We found deserted beaches and seal colonies and although paddling back in head winds was tough it really added to the extreme experience. Four day Kayak/trek adventures can also be organised through MSK which are equally independent. ..

- Remote and rustic, River Valley is a great place for solitude where you can do anything from Bungee Jumping to Witewater rafting. Basic sleeping arrangements but a must visit for those who appreciate the real outdoors.

Class time included finding information about tides and currents and how to use this to plan our trips. The trips included an afternoon along the Straits; a choppy but fun excursion around Puffin Island and lastly at the end of the weekend; we planned our own route around the rugged north coast of Anglesey, with a couple of curious seals accompanying us for a short way :0) The bar is a good distraction in the evening with decent meals, although Bangor and Caernarfon are not too far away. I can recommend Plas Menai for good value, no fuss and down to business adventure..

- Not sure why I am telling everyone about this corner of Cornwall as it's unspoilt and simple nature is what makes it so special! Not the place for night clubs, loud beach parties or sophisticated posers - thank goodness!..
